“It’s exciting to combine things that people think are neat; seeing multiple uses for things that are not commonly used.” That is a summary of the results which drive Bumblepuppy Sales’ newest store merchandiser, Jeanna.
After joining the Bumblepuppy team this past March in our shipping department, it was just a few short months before Jeanna took the opportunity to move into her current role. It was a chance to utilize the interior design skills she had acquired. “I have worked with a furniture store previously, a flooring store, and a women’s boutique,” Jeanna said. “I have also helped my friends and neighbors with things like picking out a print for their kitchen, or selecting individual pieces for display in their homes. Interior design is kind of my thing, and visual merchandising is my favorite. I love antiques and second-hand consignment.”
This passion for decorating comes out in completely new ways each and every week. “Whatever Josh and Janel make available to me from the warehouse, I try to take what originally looks random, and make it interesting. My style is eclectic, and while I like traditional looks, I will mix things from other styles like retro, transitional, contemporary… and give you a visual display that shows you how there are multiple uses for things,” Jeanna said. “You might see things like 70’s retro, or maybe something in wicker, or tin… every Monday is a challenge. I wonder how I am going to make sense of things and make it work.”
The main point to remember with Jeanna’s role, above all else, is that the store reinvents itself every week. “Come buy it all,” Jenna laughed. “We get some pretty cool stuff in the Bumblepuppy store, like those pie cupboards that have come in recently. I try to make things look artsy.”
